About J. Alba
Yoga should feel like it was made for you.
Because it can be.
My story
More than a pretty pose
When I first started practicing yoga, I saw it as a great form of exercise. I loved the challenge of the poses and how good my body felt afterward.
Then, one day, something shifted. At the end of a practice, I experienced an unexpected emotional release. For the first time, I truly felt the connection between mind, body, and spirit. It was a moment that changed the way I understood yoga, and it's what continues to bring me back to my mat through every season of life.
That's the experience I hope to share with you. The poses are just the beginning—a doorway to deeper self-awareness, connection, and a better understanding of yourself.
The name
J ALBA is more than a name.
Begin with curiosity and find what feels good. Movement should be something you look forward to, not something you dread.
Notice your body, breath, thoughts, and emotions without judgment. The first step in yoga is simply becoming aware.
Begin to recognize how your practice connects to your everyday experiences. Mindfulness on the mat keeps you present throughout your day.
Use your breath as an anchor to return to the present moment. The key component of yoga is movement linked with breath — always remember to breathe.
Bring everything together by finding what feels aligned in your body and your life — letting go of what doesn't serve you and keeping what does.
Teaching philosophy
No two bodies are the same. No two practices should be either.
Start with listening
Before we ever move, I want to understand you; your history, your goals, what feels good and what doesn't. Every practice begins with a real conversation.
Build from where you are
There's no ideal starting point. Whether you've never done yoga or you've practiced for years, we begin exactly where you are and build from there. No judgment, no comparison.
Make it sustainable
A practice you dread isn't a practice. I design sessions that feel good — challenging when you need it, restorative when you don't — so you actually want to keep showing up.
